Free Football Tip – Arsenal v Liverpool

The evening kick off this Saturday sees this season’s unlikely frontrunners, Arsenal and Liverpool, come head to head in North London at the Emirates Stadium. Only nudged down to 3rd place by Chelsea on goal difference, Brendan Rogers’ Liverpool will look at this away game as a fantastic opportunity to be top of the table as we head into November, with nearly a third of the Premier League campaign completed.

Rogers is a student of European football, and if he wants to win this match, he must surely look to the template provided by Borussia Dortmund in their 2-1 away win over the Gunners in the Champions League last week. Jurgen Klopp’s men played a sensible counter attacking strategy in the first half, interspersed with high pressing that took Arsenal by surprise and caused the opening goal of the game.

I think if we get a first half goal in this encounter, especially from Liverpool, and most likely from the deadly partnership of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge, then I can see this ending in an Over 2.5 goal result. There have been Over 2.5 goals scored in 15 of Liverpool’s last 17 away games, and if Suarez can score in the first 5 minutes like he did on Saturday against West Brom (and in January at the Emirates in the 2-2 draw when the sides last met in the League) then we could be in for a very entertaining match.

The Might Reds’ previous four games in the League have been open affairs, with 17 goals scored, all being Over 2.5’s. Arsenal will be missing the influential French midfielder, Mathieu Flamini, and they do seem a lot more light weight in the centre of the park without his presence, something Liverpool could exploit with the possible return of the creative Phillipe Coutinho after a spell out with a shoulder injury.

The Gunners have no problems in forward area’s though, and if Liverpool do adopt a Dortmund like pressing game, Arsenal may be able to counter and slice through the lines of the Merseysiders defence, with the deft and precise passing of Cazorla, Ozil and Wilshere, who have looked like a sensational combination so far this season.

I’d go for the Over 2.5 goal result at 1.67 Euro odds or 4/6.
