West Ham v Everton

West Ham and Everton have both given their fans some extremely entertaining games to enjoy. The Hammers’ highlights include victories over Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, and Chelsea, while Everton have beaten Southampton, Chelsea, and then smashed Sunderland 6-2. Neutral fans are hoping to see a thrilling game between these two teams.

Expectations

Slaven Bili? defied the odds with the four victories outlined above, but the Croatian’s can be accused of not exceling against their lower-level opponents. In particular, a 4-3 home defeat to Bournemouth Stands out for the Hammers.

Goals have not been hard for West Ham to come by, as evidenced by their return of 22 in 11 games. Dimitri Payet has been excellent so far, but Manuel Lanzini and Diafra Sakho have also had their moments. A concern, though, is how they have surrendered 15 goals in 11 games. While the attack is thriving, there is improvement required from the defence.

Defensively, Everton are in exactly the same situation. After conceding two goals to relegation-threatened Sunderland, Everton had also conceded 15 goals in 11 games. This will be a concern moving forward because centre-back Phil Jagielka will be missing until early 2016 with a knee injury, leaving 21-year-old John Stones to hold the fort alongside Ramiro Funes Mori.

After the Sunderland game, it has become clear that Everton will need to continue to score heavily if they want to win their games. Jagielka will be an extremely tough loss because Stones is still developing and the 24-year-old Mori only arrived from in Europe from Argentina this summer.

Each team will try to outdo the 4-2-3-1 formation of the other, and both will be reliant on their attacking players. As a result, this is a game where goals should be expected.

Match Tips

Tip one: West Ham @ 2.50 with Betfair
Tip two: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.72 with Betfair

West Ham have the attacking talent to exploit Everton’s lack of defensive cover. Payet and Lanzini both have the speed and passing vision to easily unlock a defence that is trying to blood the inexperienced Mori alongside the young Stones.
